Curriculum
At Valley Ranch Baptist Preschool children learn through a theme-based, custom curriculum that emphasizes essential skills for kindergarten readiness. Our Bible-based curriculum intertwines academic elements such as letter, word, and phonics recognition, writing skills, basic math, and counting skills. Weekly children's devotionals are provided which combine our themes with Bible truths. In addition, our older children focus on word families, beginning sight words, pre-reading techniques, and phonic blends. VRBP teaches pre-writing techniques according to the “Handwriting Without Tears” program, the same program used by Coppell ISD.
While academic excellence is certainly important at VRBC, we equally value learning social skills, listening skills, fine and gross motor skills, and following directions. Throughout the day, children engage in library time, physical movement, indoor and outdoor physical activity time, integrated web-based technology, dramatic play, sensory tables, manipulative centers, and fun science experiments. Each week the children have a music class and an interactive Chapel full of Bible stories and songs sure to have the kids up on their feet. Above all else we desire for children to develop a life-long love of the Bible and to seek after Jesus all the days of their lives.
